About

Hours: We’re open seven nights a week at 5:00 for dinner, and for lunch, Monday – Friday from 11:30 to 2:00. Order your lunch at mylunchin.com and it will be waiting for you when you arrive, or order it delivered. Or just come to the restaurant and dine in.

Location: 110 Fifth St., Hood River. We are one-half block off Oak, which is the ticketyboo downtown Hood River main street.

Reservations: Yes, but if you are 7 or more people, we will have to negotiate a bit. 541-387-4000.

Chef’s Tasting Menu: Available now through April, on Tues-Wed-Thurs. Five courses for $30, and no, we don’t know what it is in advance. That’s the fun of it, right?

Welcome to the source — for great food, and the latest news on what we’re dishing up at the Table.

First, there is no one here named Nora. Nora was founder Kathy Watson’s mother, Nora Fruh, who died in 2007, and this restaurant is in part a tribute to her. It’s also a tribute to you, and your desire for food with a difference. Fresh, local ingredients. Big, bold flavors. Beautiful to look at. A wonder to taste. A value to the pocketbook. A place to remember, and return.

Not to mention, the Gorge’s only Gorge-only wine list. Oregon Wine Press just this month (September 2010)  recognized us as one of 40 “stellar cellar” wine lists of note in the state. We believe there is such an excellent selection of wines available from the wineries in the Columbia River Gorge, there’s no sustainable reason to buy imports from South America, Australia or even California.

We buy our fruits, vegetables and meats from local farmers and ranchers whenever we can. Most of our beef, lamb and pork comes from Mountain Shadow Natural Meats in Dufur, just around the back side of Mount Hood. The meat is fresh, and raised without added antibiotics and hormones, and fed all vegetable feed, and very little grain.

We are open five nights a week, year-round Tuesday-Saturday, from 5:00 pm. (except we’re closed for the whole month of January.)

Yes, we take reservations: 541-387-4000. Or you can reserve a table right here on our site. Look for the link in the upper right corner.

Now that you’re here, please bookmark us. We’ll be posting daily menu updates here, plus any other news in good taste.

  1. Hello Nora’s Table! I hope you enjoy my wind energy artwork. Myah Bailey from Benjamin Benjamin Gallery in Hood River arranged to display them at your restaurant, and I’d love any feedback or comments you receive about them. It’s the first time I’ve displayed them other than one solo show last January. I would love to eat at Nora’s the next time I’m in Hood River. Again, thank you for the opportunity to display my wind energy paintings!

  2. I ate at your restaurant in August. It was so good, everyone in our group of 4 decided to patronize your restaurant two nights in a row. I had the salmon both nights. Best entree I have ever had at a restaurant. It was the salmon with cherry tomatoes on it. Could you send me the menu description of that dish so I can remember what else was in it? Thank you.

    • Aw, Alison, that’s a hard one! We cook on a whim, not from recipes, and we change our menu nightly. We have salmon on all summer, and pair it with whatever is coming in from our farmers. I looked back at some of our August menus, and this may be similar to what you ate: Wild Alaskan salmon on fregoli pasta with Windflower squash, basil, green beans and tomatoes. Does that sound familiar?
